On October 2, 2018 I had a dream where I sensed a dark evil presence in my kitchen. It knocked over a coffee cup. Immediately I tried to speak out to come against the enemy to test the spirit. However I was overtaken by fear and could not get the words out! Finally I was able to mumble within myself “Jesus! Jesus!” It was nothing more than a grunting sound.
Then suddenly Jesus pressed His face through the ceiling of my kitchen where the spirit was. He was magnificent, bold and beautiful and came through with such power! I immediately was flooded with a feeling of His peace and protection.
Upon awakening I was so full of his Joy! I began to praise and worship Him. He is for us even when we can’t get the words out. He makes the darkness tremble! He silences fear!
The Holy Spirit then gave me these scriptures:
Ephesians 4:12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.
Galatians 4:5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.
1 Timothy 3:10 They must first be tested, and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
I sensed the Lord was letting me know that I must go through testing. Have you ever thought “Lord haven’t I already been through the fire”? He then gave me some scriptures that spoke of His words over me and my destiny. Thankfully I knew the end was better than the beginning.
He uses our dreams to warn us of things to come. Therefore I began to pray about the spiritual battle that I might face ahead. The beauty of it all was knowing that He will always push through for me just like He did in the dream. He literally pushed through the ceiling!
Approximately a week later I received a call from someone that asked to meet with me. I knew the nature of the meeting before it even took place. I called a good friend to come over and pray with me prior to the meeting. There was no way I was going to let the enemy penetrate the barrier of protection the Lord was building around me against the enemy’s schemes. I was not going to be offended because I knew the moment I did it would push me into sin. The sin of seeing my brother or sister in Christ as the source of hurt and not the enemy working through them. I was determined to show unconditional love regardless of the circumstances while still using God’s wisdom in the matter.
My friend brought oil to anoint me and we prayed over every room in the house. My prayer was that the moment they walked in my door that they would feel something different. The presence of the Lord was in that place! As my friend prayed over me and anointed me, we were both filled with the Spirit! The atmosphere was tangible and heavy with His glory!
I was given some unfortunate news that evening but nothing could shake me from the solid rock on which I stood! My identity is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His promises!
